Humans Still Exist

Picture the scene, the dawn of life, one man’s dream
Pages ripped from the Holy Scripture, 
Take a glance, what does it mean?
We fought with fire since we came
There’s no ocean that could put out this flame
We trade the spoken word for a wielding knife
Why do we fight for something that’s worth less than life?
It makes me wonder

How can we continue in a manner such as this?
It’s amazing how us humans still exist
The world is at war, yet we continue to dismiss
It’s amazing how us humans still exist
…and we won’t be missed!

Just because it is written, it doesn’t make it so
How can I worship something I can’t even see
Or someone I don’t know
Is it because we’re scared
Of a spirit you can’t prove is there
It’s just a figment of your imagination
A spectre in the air
It makes me wonder

How can we continue in a manner such as this?
It’s amazing how us humans still exist
You must repent your sins my son, I think I get the gist!

The time has come now
To find a way out somehow
If we don’t work together
Oceans will rise and we’ll all drown
Superior species
That’s not what we see
We see the world blinded
Lying in their faeces
Roaring thunder
War and plunder
We’re torn asunder
It makes me wonder

The blind leading the blind as we stagger through the mist
It’s amazing how us humans still exist
It would be bliss
And I’ll tell you this
We won’t be missed!
